While at the dog park today with our Huskies I decided to see how my (new to me) D800 along with the trusty Nikon AF 80-200 2.8D (two ring) would perform on some high speed action shots. This dog was running flat out as fast as her legs could carry her chasing after a ball.

I was shooting in Shutter Priority with Auto ISO set between 200-800 (stayed at 200 due to good light) at 1/800 of a second. The aperture varied between 4.5-5.6 and I was shooting in continuous AF with 21 points. For being out of practice for a few years and using a camera/lens combo that aren't typically known for fast action work I don't think the results are too bad.
