iMac 20 or iMac 24 - CPU & Graphics question

Discussion in 'Apple/Mac' started by chrismead, Jul 11, 2008.

  1. Hi,

I have decided to take the plunge and get a Mac - will I notice a huge issue between the 3.06 CPU and better graphics card over buying the 20" with 2.66 CPU and lower specced graphics? I intend to upgrade to 4Gb either way.

I would like to keep my options open, so assume I am going to have Lightroom or Aperture 2 with Photoshop CS3 with the above spec.

    Grateful for you mac users!

    Chris

I'd get the 24" screen with as much video ram as possible then hook a second 24" screen to it.

  3. The bigger CPU comes with 512Mb video memory - the smaller has 256Mb. I had no idea you could hook up additional monitors with the iMacs?

  4. Yes you can.

The 24" IMac can also drive the 30" Cinema Display which the 20" version can not.
