I was reading another forum and came across a free Image Recovery software prog. Never hurts to have more than one.

I have the one that Lexar ships with thier cards and it does work. Sometime might want to try another as well.

    Gale,

I accidently deleted the wrong files last night while doing some processing. They weren't anything super-duper (just some shots from last Saturday morning), but I did have a few keepers. I tried to use the recovery app that came with my Lexar cards, but it apparently isn't for full disk recovery (it is possible that it was operator error....;-)).

I tried my Norton Utilities recovery tool, and poof!! They are back. :D  :D

I was pleased to say the least.... :p

    Frank,

Good to hear of yet another recovery method.

Sometimes one just doesn't do the job.

    Good to have alternatives.

Thanks for your method. I do not use Norton anything.

But you never know. I would send my card to you. :>))) lol

    Cheers

  4. Hi Frank and Gale,

Technically, pictures files are same as FAT 16 or FAT 32 MS Windows files. When deleted, the disk space (on hard disks or memory cards) they occupied is only marked «free for another use» . The data isn't lost until another write uses the liberated space or the card is formatted. So any data recovery software can be used to recover the deleted pictures.

    Cheers.
