the following:

Nikon 180m 2.8
Kenko Teleplus PRO 300 DG 1.4x...

and yesterday scored a Nikon 80-200mm 2.8

I'd go get Lens Lust counseling but I really think I'm done for a while!

I can beat this thing on my own......

Congratulations on your new lenses... Sounds like you got a a bad case of not NAS but NASA.... Nikon Acquisition Syndrome Again...LOL... But nice set of lenses.... The Kenko 1.4x TC is a really works well with the 80-200 and many other lenses. I'm sure that you will get a lot of use from it...

As for saying being done for a while.... Would you like to define "a while"...:rolleyes:

That's nothing. I sold my 180 and 105DC. I will be using what I already have more effectively now. I am getting the 85mm F1.8.

Honestly I have very little sympathy, but I do have a question;

why both the 180 and the 80-200?

Just seems like your lust for the 180 could have been used for a 300 f/4 or some other complimentary focal length
Good question! Kind of a combination of affordability and timing.

Originally I was going to get an 80-200 and a deal I couldn't refuse fell in my lap for the 180mm. After getting the 180, I loved it so much that I wasn't going to get the 80-200 (though I still really wanted the zoom flexability). I came across a deal on the 80-200 I couldn't refuse and...go figure!

I figure with the Kenko 1.4 and the 80-200, I'll be close enough to 300mm when I need it. Whether or not I'm happy with the IQ of that combo, I guess I'll find out.

You're a prime guy so I understand your strategy. What I have invested in the 180 and 80-200 combined is still hundreds of dollars less than what the 300 f4 would cost used....

Wow

you have been doing some lusting, but I have to agree with Edward, there is some overlap with 180 and 80-200. If you combine the values of the 180, the 80-200, and the teleplus pro you aren't 'too' far away from a 70-200 VR......

Yes, yes, yes, it all starts when you get that first 4.5 and then you want that 2.8, then that 1.8 or 1.4, and you get that 100mm then you want the 300, then the 400 and then you see guys and gals post those nice pictures of whatever lens and you say, man I would like to have one of those, anyway.....

We'll see you when you post your next new lens.... you will, you will.

He,he,he.......Have fun,

George.

you are not alone...

..this thing is spreading: In the last 30 days I bought:
two used Ais (28 2.8 and 20 2.8) and the 50mm 1.4; One Manfrotto 190MF4 with 804RC3 Head, A Giotto's 9160-5 monopod plus Bogen 3229 Head.
Right now, I am ordering a Kenko TC and lusting for the 10.5 fish...
Do you know a good doctor?
