Thank you all! We drove our new little runabout right up to her port side to within a few feet as the sun was setting. It's quite impressive that close. Thanks again!

Nice shot Mike. The relected light on the underside adds a lot of impact.

I have a similar shot, taken from a spot a little farther to the left, that I've never been too happy with. It shows the guard rails around the flight deck and, while I understand why they're there given the ships current use, they really don't seem appropriate for a war ship.

Thanks for the "this is how it should look shot". It gives me some ideas for the next time I'm there.

Cool shot. It gives you an idea of just how big the carriers are....and the Midway is a small one.

Once again, a heart-felt thank-you all for your very kinds comments.... as it turned out, this shot was not planned or even prepped... as I was driving our little boat closer to the Midway I saw the potential of this shot, fired up the G-10 held it over the windshield and snapped a few frames.... this was about the only good one of the bunch. :eek:
