With a D2X, what remote(s) can I use (in hotshoe) to trigger remotely placed SB800's ?

I'd like to have 2 x SB800's placed at a location but fire them from a master trigger on the camera.

    Any ideas ? thanks
  2. It would nice if Nikon produced a master unit that did only that - communicate with SB800s and SB600s, mounted in a camera's hot shoe. It could even be relatively small. Could also have the same focusing assist that the SC29 cord has. Kind of a cordless SC29.

What about 3rd party wireless units? I have never looked into those.

What I tend to do is have on SB800 off camera on an SC29, then two or three others wireless. This works pretty well, though the cord is often a problem. I have pulled over light stands more than once.
  3. What's wrong with the master/slave arrangement with the SB800's. Using an SB800 on camera triggering the SB800's off camera. Works for me.
