Had an amazing 2-week vacation to Japan with my son. My IR camera was over-worked and is on its last legs and needs to be replaced. Thankfully it performed well on the trip.

  10. Wow, what an awesome series; beautiful images. I Like #4 and#8, for its openness, #2 is a wall hanger/fine art print.

Stunning IR work! What cameras are you considering as a replacement? And what is your current IR camera?

  13. Wonderful series.

I've though about doing an IR conversion. Threads like this make me think about it more.

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments.

These were shot with a converted Olympus Pen EP3. I purchased it used on FM for a trip to Machu Pichu last April. I have a D70 IR converted camera but completely moved to m43 for my travel kit. I guess I should sell that.

I need to see if I can repair the Olympus otherwise I'll try to find a replacement.

I did plan to use the IR body extensively, and I did!

    Japan is an amazing country.

    cheers

I, too, have a converted D70 IR. It hasn't had much use in the last 5 years or so, even though I do take it with me wherever I go.

Japan is a country I'd like to visit. Did you go on a tour? Photo tour?

No. My trips are all self-planned and independent. Japan was not really a place I had on my radar it was my sons choice. I don't know why it wasn't on my radar though because it is amazing. Photographically of course, but everything about it. The food, the cleanliness, the safety, the culture, the history, the food. I was never a big sushi fan but the food (including the sushi) was all around incredible. I will go back in the future. I missed cherry blossom season but think my preference is the fall. The gardens are spectacular and I can only imagine them during fall colors.

    cheers

Fantastic series just wonderful. I honestly liked all of them.

  18. It has been awhile since I have tried to convince my wife, so far unsuccessfully, that we should put Japan on our to-do list. This thread motivates me to do some homework and try again.

  19. Am amazing set...interesting compositions throughout.

  20. Gorgeous images. often think of getting one of my bodies converted, but I may wait until such a day that I have a mirrorless model.
