Inter-tribal Powwow in Houston

    I went to an intertribal powwow yesterday and took a few pictures. During the ceremony, they asked all of us veterans to come onto the field and "dance" with them. Native Americans are the most patriotic people I know, and I don't have a clue why that is. The first picture is me "dancing" (I have the olive drab cap on).

    The children are exceptional.

    we always honour veterans at all of our powwows - and it is only on rare occassions that non-american indians are not invited to dance either as veterans or in hounour of a realtive who may be a veteran or who currently stands in harm's way in service to our country - your pictures hounour our peoples and their spirit - this final comment is directed with respect to one of the previous responders - the word brave is not generally considered appropriate to describe any of our people - people and dancers are quite enough
