How many of you all have paid extra cash to buy an extended warranty for your digital SLR cameras? I priced Circuit City's and their 4-year plan is almost $200 while the 2-year plan is about $110. I know Ritz charges a lot more for their extended warranty. What are you all doing for extended coverage for high dollar repairs

Oops! Sorry for the double post. First the forum said I couldn't post this since it was too close to another other post I had made and for me to try again. So, I tried again and presto! Double post. Oh, well. So I look like a dummy

Before you sign up for a 2-year warranty, you might want to check with your credit card. Many credit cards (including mine) will double your warranty, up to an additional year at no additional charge.

Personally, I almost never buy any extended warranties because for most electronics, unless there is some physical damage, if it initially works, then it is usually fine.

  4. I bought a Mack 4 year warrenty for my D70. I think it was something like $40. Anyway, I wouldn't spend big bucks on a warrenty......... the camera resale value just doesn't justify it.
