Is there ever a good time to have focus on shutter button?

Up until April, when I went to the TX school for professional photography, I had my focus on the shutter - didn't really know there was a difference. At school, my teacher had us all changing it to the back button - it works beautifully when in a studio and you stay a certain distance from your subject - in fact it speeds things up a tad. Well, I found it didn't work as well for me shooting my racers. SO, back to the shutter button I went. I've decided, there's a time for one technique and a time for the other. I shot 430 photos for VBS using the back button and they all turned out great. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

For some people it's like being a rightly and trying to write with the left hand, and vice versa, if you have been doing it a certain way for a king time, stick to it, me personally, I use the rear AF-ON button and the shutter button, either or, makes no difference to me.
