Is this service normal now?

Late last year I ordered an "E - type" screen for my F5 film body from a great full service photo shop. They are knowledgeable, and very supportive, but are at the mercy of their suppliers.

After several inquiries were made by me, their supplier finally gave an ETA date of mid May for my screen. Today is the 10 of July, and there is no sign of the screen. Is this normal service for Nikon in Canada? What has been the experience of people in other countries?

Phone Nikon Canada directly and ask about availability... 906-625-9910. Is this a Nikon part or maybe now a third party part?

This is a standard Nikon produced part. Phone calls resulted in the May ETA. You would think Nikon would properly service people with pro equipment, or at lease give some useful feedback.

Alas, no such luck. Maybe it is coming by way of the orient in a canoe.
