    David, the second image is very cool. Definitely doesn't look like a plant. What lens did you use for these?
     
  3. Nikkor 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5D

    I used the Nikkor 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5D for all of these "studio" shots. I really like this lens. It's relatively inexpensive, pretty sharp and, with its macro feature, very versatile. The reproduction ratio is only 1:2 but with the crop factor on my D100 it's closer to 1:1 (I think 1:1.33333).
