This was midday sun. Tomorrow, early morning and late afternoon light.

How long do you think it can take to save up for one of these puppies? :p

Harris :

{long evil chuckle} I have one of these (and this is the lens that should have been called "the Beast", IMO), and it's on the camera almost all the time for the wildlife shooting. Versatile, powerful, and able to shoot easily handheld, it's just a dream.

You're toast, man.

The 200-400mm VR will reach out and grab you and hold on to you if you are not careful.

I had been saving my nickels and dimes for a D2X and was at the point of making a decision of which dealer to use when I stumbled across 200-400mm an acquaintance had. He never used it and switched to Canon. I got an incredible bargain, it truly was an offer I couldn't refuse.

It set my D2X purchase back at least 6 months but such are the consequences of lens lust disease.

Only a few more items to sell off and I will be there. :D

Harris, tomorrow is Father's Day. Go buy the darned thing, wrap it in Father's Day paper and open it in front of your family. All that you have to do is say, "thanks you guys, it's just what I wanted!". What's the worst that could happen?

This is one of the legendary lens... sniffles. Why are all the legendary lens so expensive? ;)

I think the only "remotely" touchable "legendary" lens in my price range would have to be the 70-200mm f/2.8 AF-S ED-IF G VR lens.

Why... why!

Anyway, congrats on the purchase. It is ... a wicked lens indeed.
