It pays to do your wedding homework

  1. This wedding was in Ligonier, Pa. which is a beautiful area. The problem is how can you have a Bridal party step out of a limo into a country scene and not get them dirty or have high heels sink in mud.

I went there two different days a week before the wedding and got permission to use these properties. There were each within a 1/2 mile of the church or reception.

Greg those shots are stunning to say the least. (Coming from a city boy).

  5. Thanks.
A colleague of mine (my dept head, actually) used to manage McConnell's Mill SP. I thought perhaps. . . .!

  6. As these shots prove, nothing works better than advance scouting.

Excellent work. No better preparation than planning and scouting.

  9. Nick, Joe, Frank David and Walter, Thanks for the compliments.

When I first went there to scout locations, I asked the Reverend of the church where people shoot. He said "The Gazebo in town square" It's a beautiful Gazebo, but I wanted something different.

I got permission to take the bridal party onto these private properties.

You did a really fine thing. You made their wedding photographs unique, and that makes them all the more memorable.

  11. Great pics. Looks like a neat little place to be 'private property'...

  12. Excellent work Greg. Beautiful series of pictures.
