It's a Dog thing you wouldn't understand...

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Panos Kazanelis, Feb 27, 2005.

  1. OK Dog Lovers, show us your...dog!!!
I was thinking of making this thread a Lab Gallery, but a dog lover IS a dog lover regardless of breed, color or bark sound...

So, despite the fact that I am a LAB Lover, ALL breeds are welcomed here! Lets see some action!!!

I introduce you Lambros the Labrador http://www.pbase.com/pkazan/lambros
These are all taken yesterday, Saturday 26th of February at Mt. Troodos in Cyprus. Yes, yes, Cyprus is not only about the sunny, hot, summer weather at the beach, but also the sunny, hot, snowy winter weather at the mountains!!!

    He sure is a cutie!

I know this is gonna sound really dumb, but does Lambros mean "sweet red wine"? ;)  (I used to drink a brand called "Lambros")
Here's a couple shots of my only remaining dog at the present time, Bunny.
    NIKON D70    ---    200mm    f/2.8    1/500s

    NIKON D70    ---    70mm    f/3.2    1/1250s

    I call this one "Balance"
    NIKON D70    ---    400mm    f/4.5    1/1600s

I didn't take these the breeder did, but this is my next dog, Pierre, a little black male Brussls Griffon, arriving on Apr 11th:

Here is a picture of Max, taken in Panama City, Florida. I gave Max away when I moved to the United Kingdom. Under the laws the UK had when I moved I would have had to put him in a kennel for six months quarantine. I just cound'nt lock him up for six months, so he now lives the good like on the beach in Florida.

  4. Re: He sure is a cutie!

Well Steve, no question is dumb (but a lot of answers are...)

Lambros in Greek means bright, brilliant, radiant, luminus, excellent, but also superb, magnificent, spledid, gorgeous, glorious and grand. It is actually a very popular name among ...people!!! Maybe the wine you were drinking was all of the above...

Your buddy Bunny is so cute looks so ...indefatigable!!!
  5. Re: Max

Well Todd, you sure did the right thing! It's a great dog and the EU laws about pets are sometimes so ...incomprehensible. Six months in a kennel??? SO, did you get another dog yet?

    Thanks for the definition, Panos,

I have to make a correction. the name of the wine I used to drink Many yrs ago was called "Lambrusco", not not Lambros.

This is a great thread to have started. Here are my three dogs. I don't have any new pictures and have posted these before but what the heck.

Your lab puppy is gorgeous and so are the other dogs posted in this thread... let's keep this going so we can update pictures often. AND who knows maybe one of us will get a new puppy :)

I'm going to try to get my dogs' pictures to come up on the reply. In my first one I forgot to put IMG in front and back..here goes.

This is of Reggie, our 2 year old

    Here's Panda, she's 8 years old

Here's TeeCee. He's almost ten and he's our oldest of the Shih Tzu pack we have here. He's almost blind.

    Here's another one of Reggie

Here's the one of TeeCee that I didn't manage to get into the other posts... He's almost ten and is almost blind...our 'almost doggie'.

I hope this works..I'm having trouble getting pictures into my replies..

I have no idea why the image didn't come up...I give up..
  11. here's my Shar Pei, Touche:

Thank you, Gordon, for coming to my rescue with TeeCee's picture. Guess it was too early in the morning to do that kind of posting with pictures

AND your picture, Gordon, with water fountain is a joy!

Harris, not sure which one is cuter your grandson or the new puppy.. both adorable and quite a duo :)

  15. Meet Belle

I loved to see all the dogs. Panos, your lab pup is really cute: what a challenge to photograph a black dog in the snow, huh? Keep them coming!

Here is Belle, puppy Golden Retriever, at 8 weeks:
    NIKON D70    ---    160mm    f/3.2    1/400s

And last week, after a good run (she is 2 weeks shy of one year old now):

And here is one, golden and chocolate lab, taken at our breeder's, a year ago:

I just can't resist putting in this picture of our 'Spencer'. This was taken nine years ago with my first point and shoot digital so it's very poor quality....but must share this darling little guy with you dog lovers...

Spencer is no longer with us but he was a wonderful little guy. We will never forget him!

Philippe, your Belle is a beautiful little gal. Sure enjoy all the pictures in this dog thread.

And this gives me practice trying to put an image into my post.
