Its a hummer,no its a moth!

  1. My wife told me about this hummingbird moth stopping by our garden. I was able to get a couple of quick snapshots, but just barely with my 300 F4 at 1/1000 ISO 400. I am at work during the week so I will try again this weekend with better light and faster shutter speed:

  3. It looks like a flying prawn! Do these things hover?
  4. Nice shots, I know these moths are quick as their namesakes. Last year I had hundreds of them on my monarda, but this year I managed to catch just one lonely one.
  5. Great capture John.
