It's just Too Hot & Too Humid even for "Little One"

Discussion in 'Other Animals' started by Lil Judd, Jul 28, 2007.

  1. Well this little guy or gal I call "Little One". This is his/her reaction to the weather we're having. Just too great an opportunity & luckily camera was close by so I got the shot.

    I hope you'll enjoy.

    Hahaha, that's great.
  3. That's a great capture!
I bet squirrels in Norway have all funded for umbrellas this year :frown:
  4. Thanks Brian

    I couldn't believe it when I saw him/her.

  5. Thanks Alex

The same for the Swedish ones I bet. My mother tells me it's the worst Summer ever in Sweden.

    Thanks for the comment.

    I love flat squirrels.
Haven't been able to catch one like that yet

    Super pic
  9. Thanks Torben, Gloria, & Gale

Thanks Torben. Denmark being as drenched as Norway & Sweden?

Thank you Gloria. I just happen to love the shot myself. Glad you got a laugh out of it.

Thanks Gale. I had not ever seen a squirrel do that before so I was very surprised - pleasantly so especially since I managed to catch it with the camera.

I have never seen so much rain before. We've had days with one normal month of rain. Hopefully the weather will get better next week.
  11. So sorry to hear that Torben. Scandinavian Summers are normally beautiful. Sounds like the Summer my parents bought a sailboat. 1978 I believe - Sweden had not seen so much rain in years. Stuck on a boat for three weeks, while it was raining the whole time, with my parents was not my idea of a vacation.

    I wish you better weather.

Nice catch. May I ask what lens? I see 300mm in the exif.
  13. Hi Tom

Thanks & it's the Nikkor 300mm f/4 D AF-S ED IF. There are so many versions of the 300mm it makes my head spin. I happy with it, but would one day like to upgrade to a f/2.8.

There's a slight crop to the shot.

This is absolutely priceleless! What a great capture!
  15. Thanks Andy. Coming from you that means a lot to me. But basically it's luck - "Little One" doing his/her thing & me being fast enough with the camera. Luckily "Little One" is used to me & the camera by now so I didn't spook him/her as I kept my distance with the 300mm f/4

Cute shot. I've never seen one lay on a limb like that.

  17. Thanks for stopping by my little thread Shep.

First time I've ever seen it as well. I've learned to leave the camera in the kitchen so it's close at hand when I want it. It and about five lenses next to the computer & the kitchen table is full. But I need everything right here.

    Again, thanks for commenting.

    Hahah!! Väl fångat!!!

Well done!! A really good capture!!
  19. We've been very hot here. You captured my sentiments exactly!!! Very funny photo.
  20. Tack så mycket Daniel & Thanks to Terri as well.

Tack Daniel. Ibland har man tur.

Thanks Daniel, it was luck - pure luck.

Thank you Terri. Heat we're used to it's Los Angeles after all. But high humidity is not what we're used to & we've been having that as well. It was so hot & humid it was just unbearable for us all. Needless to say, even the squirrels it would seem were on strike.
