Its Time to Mow the Roof - Faroe Islands

Discussion in 'Landscapes, Architecture, and Cityscapes' started by bobhoge, Jun 21, 2007.

  1. While walking around Torshavn in the Faroe Islands while on our voyage from Norway to Iceland, we noted that it was time to mow the roofs on a lot of the buildings.

These building were the government offices of the Faroe Islands (Torshavn is the national capital)

This one needed some water and some fertilizer :

Sod roofs were certainly not rare in the Faroe Islands, our guide said they needed to be replaced about every five years, but they provided very good insulation.

a little off the top, eh?
  4. wonder if I could get the riding mower up on one with a ramp  lol
  5. The second roof doesn't need mowing, it needs weeding!

Oh, hang on, that's the garden isn't it. Or is it? Where does one end and the other begin?
