I long while ago I used to play with IX lenses from the APS Pronea camera shaving the back off them so they would work with my DX Nikon bodies. It now occurs to me that that they may fit the FTZ adaptor perhaps without modification. Anybody tried it?

Well I've answered my own question. An IX lens will not fit into the FTZ, BUT, if you remove the rear shroud from the lens, tidy up the exposed circuit board with some tape, insert the inner part of the shroud to stop reflections and you have a very cheap lens. £12 in this case for the complete Pronea camera. It's manual focus of course but auto exposure and whilst the Pronea was an APS-C format the lens does not seem to default to DX mode but the FX coverage seems OK. Just one trial shot shown before going out to test fully
