Hello all, my base sent a C-17 Globemaster III to Japan last night with search and rescue personal from LA County Fire and one Combat Camera member. They went with 11 pallets of stuff that filled the plane. I had the honor of shooting the loading from midnight when the plane landed till 4am when the plane was wheels up off the deck.

One of the guys had just gotten back from New Zealand the day before and now he is on the way to Japan, talk about dedicated to helping people.

Here are a few of the photos, all shot with a D3S 14-24 lens. Most are 5000 ISO, only one shot I used my flash.

Dang Matt - about all I know to say is GOD BLESS AND THANKS I'm so proud to live in a country where our military is so willing to go help those in need - I hope the whole world will sit up and take notice - Every photo in this series is awesome - they each show how much capacity we have for helping. Great shots!! Thanks so much for posting.

(In case anyone cares, it's a McChord AFB C-17 from here in Washington. (62AW or the reserve associate wing.)

Wish I could hop on board and go over and help!! Times like these it's tough to be "retired" ... especially with so many Japanese friends.

Cheers!!

Ken
