I have been feeding the Bluebirds their meal worms the last several days. A chickadee took over the nest earlier this spring and I hadnt seen them for awhile. About a month ago my son saw them going back into the house after the Chickadee's left. That is when I started with the meal worms. This past weekend I saw what I was guessing was a fledgling from their first batch. Only one though. He/she has also been comming for the worms. As of Monday I noticed that afer mom and dad had their fill they would fill their beaks with worms and head to the bird house to feed the new batch. Today as they were getting their worms Jr was screaming to be fed and dad just ingnored him. Damn its hard times when you have to feed yourself.

Where's the love dad

I did not know that Bluebirds crossed their wings behind their backs.

I have one more week with them before I have to go on a horrible 2 week trip to Hawaii. Will need to somehow switch to landscape mode. Im hoping that they will stick around until I get back. Then I begin a pondless waterfall to try and entice a few more birds to the back yard.

Thanks for looking

Mike
