Just a gull

Discussion in 'Birds' started by hangin tree, Jul 7, 2007.

  1. This was taken with the old 300/4 handheld. I think it is the first time the 500 has been off the camera.

  2. WOW! What a beauty! Nice shot, Gary!

  3. Very nice indeed Gary. Love the way it presented against the background.

  4. Thanks Dianne

    Glad you like it.

  5. I normally am not for a square crop but in this case the sky was so nice I wanted to give the bird more space and restricted to 800 pixels the square crop seemed to work.

This just goes to show that even a "plain old gull" can look spectacular with a perfect capture. Cudos!!

  9. Thank You Thor

Great to hear from you. I think the nice sky helped to bring out the bird.

  10. I like this image! Good composition and capture. There is a small halo on the belly of the gull, otherwise perfect processing.

    Best,

    Jose

  12. Nice one Gary. I agree that gulls can be very photogenic, they are fun to shoot - and plentiful.

  13. They are a good shot for BIF and they are good to get your exposure right.

  14. amen to that!
