On a recent field trip where I took my Mom for a day of sightseeing and imagery, we came across this goose family at Mermet Lake in southernmost Illinois. The lighting was terrible (midday, harsh sun, reflections on the water) but one makes do with what is presented. I went for a high contrast image, and saturarated what colors are present in RSP.
There is a behavior aspect in this image. I imaged from the car but the geese parents still perceived the car as a threat. When the parents perceive a threat, they tend to keep the goslings tightly bunched and between the parents.
