This challenge is one of my 2016 resolutions. That and to try drinking coffee without sugar. Now that I'm creating this thread I realize, 52 weeks is a very long time! I'm not going to work around a special theme. Most of the time, I grab my camera only on vacation or special occasions. I find it very hard to take pictures in the everyday life; to see compositions. That I want to change this year. It will be a hard challenge, nevertheless a very fun one I think.

And before I forget. Happy New Year! :)

happy New Year, Frank. I hope to see pictures of oyur every day life, seeing through your eyes.
And you can have a lot of fun here, because you'll find a lot of nice people around.

Hope you find your "artistic" vision here - taking lots of images even of ordinary things will help it develop.

Looking forward to watching you have a fun go at it. I actually prefer seeing images from common every day experiences. Wishing you a cool learning experience :)

Since, most of the time I need approximately 1 week between shooting a picture and post processing it, I will start from 28/12 to 03/01. Maybe a bit unfair, but I promise I will try to do 53 weeks. ;)

Last week, my wife and I were on a city trip in Vienna, the capital of Austria. For this challenge I made a selection of 3 images which I like very much. I will post the rest of the picture in Wanderlust on the forum, when I have time to process them all. Could take a while, since I'm working on a new website. By the way, my website will support retina devices so I will always post 2 versions of a picture. A low resolution one, and a higher linked beneath the picture itself.

Here goes ...

The Schönbrunn Palace, known from emperor Sissi. Unfortunate you can't take any pictures inside, very very beautiful!

#2 does it for me...what a stunning ceiling. #3 Palace...wow that is a huge beautiful palace. The design of the windows is so interesting. Unfortunately, most all of these places do not allow cameras, with good reason. Thanks for sharing.

Architectural photography is my favorite genre and so these three images ring all of my bells. I especially love the stained glass window - awesome!

+1 for #2 - fine perspective and processing.

Thanks Jeff!

Tried the second picture in color, but didn't like it as much as in bw.

Welcome, Frank. I look so forward to seeing your pictures this year. You are off to a wonderful start!! The colors in the window of the first shot are incredible.

Thanks Terri!
To be honest it was an easy start, because I have lots of pictures from our city trip. The next weeks won't be as easy :)

So I wanted to show you some nice pictures of a Short-eared Owl, but I'm afraid I need to fall back to my back-up plan :(
In Belgium we're having a very mild winter, and in certain areas there are quite some short-eared owls spotted. So Saturday, I tried to photograph some. But after 4 hours of waiting in the cold (together with some other photographers), not a single owl was seen. They were there all week according to the people who where there, but that day ... nope. I'm going to try again in 2 weeks, hopefully I will have more luck then.

So ... the backup plan!

I want to show you a bit of my everyday life, mainly my work. Since 4 years I work as a IT project manager in a small company near Antwerp. I commute around 200km (120 miles approx.) each day, unfortunate it takes my 3 to 3,5 hours because of the traffic jams. And now that I have become a father recently, the wasted time gets more and more on my nerves.

Like I said, it's a very small company and a very old building which is being refurbished right now. As soon as you enter the front door, you will see this lobby. If you go straight ahead you will find our table tennis facilities. To the left 2 big meeting rooms. Our office, is upstairs.

Did I mention we are a very small company? ;)
We have 2 teams. One in Brussels and one in Antwerp. This is taken at Antwerp. The office can be quite messy sometimes and we don't have any real hierarchy between the colleagues. Most of the time we build very technical web applications. My job is to manage the projects of 4 customers. One of them is AXA bank & insurance. Probably also well known in the USA.

The forum is restricted to regular non-registred visitors right? ;)
The work relationship between my boss and I could be better. He's a very commercial person, not a very honest person .... and sometimes we don't get along very well. Which gives me a lot of stress in moments. So I'm looking for a new job right now. Somewhere closer to home, a bit larger company and more structured. But I'm looking for the same kind of job. I really love what I do! :)

That is a lot of driving - stay safe! And I love the photos, especially the ones of the interior of your car - nice looking dashboard!! (y)

And yes, your secrets about your boss and wanting to leave are safe, LOL!!

I do like the industrial feel of your office, although I must admit, I love that my office has a door that I can close when I want privacy.

This is a very nice series this week!!
