Last week he gave me 12 and begrudgingly 20 more when I was at pain level 10
Kidney pain is nasty. I'm surprised that your doc is so concerned, especially since you are an oncology patient. Usually they are a bit more forgiving when dealing with cancer patients.

So sorry,

Narcs (feds) can be very imposing to doctors. It took me YEARS to find a doctor who would help me be able to lead a semi normal life with medication. Unfortunately the opioid epidemic has made it difficult for these docs.

I started seeing this behavior last year when I had some bad back pains. A neurosurgeon told me to go to the ER and he couldn't give me pain meds unless he operated on me

I found the oncologists to be the most understanding of the specialists. As evidenced by my stent removal ordeal, my urologist didn't even offer me a plain Tylenol. Come to think of it, he didn't understand why I was doubled over in pain when he put the thing in, and I was sedated for that procedure.

Good luck,

Understandable. I would never ask any doc just because, but if some of your issues/symptoms fall under their care, they might not find it out of their realm. In either event, I hope the pain levels subside soon so you do not even need the meds. They work, but they always made me sleepy.

Feel better,

Randy, I have passed several stones. So I fully understand your pain. If you want a rally joyous experience, have a Foley catheter installed. I have had two. First time in Er with a little lidocaine. Second in OR after anesthesia.

Good luck with the cancer. Thoughts and prayers are with you
