KLUNK, KLUNK, KLUNK - Sailing In The Ice Of Greenland

Discussion in 'Transportation' started by bobhoge, Sep 10, 2008.

  1. Sailing in Disko Bay on the west coast of Greenland gave Lindblad Expeditions new ship, the National Geographic Explorer, a good test of the ice rated hull.

Moving slowly (and noisily:rolleyes: ) through the ice:

Kool shots. Everyone should at least once in ther life experience the beauty of the north. I've been to Thule a few times and the ice bergs are quite impressive. Neat reflection shot. Thanks for sharing........

Nice and cool, how do you rate being aboard the Nat'l Geo ship?
  4. It really fits our style of traveling very, very weii! Out-of-the mainstream destinations, great guides and leaders, very casual atmosphere, small number of passengers, the other guests are among the most interesting people we have ever met. A bit pricey, but worth every penny!

Lindblad Expeditions has been co-marketing their ships with National Geographic since 2005. We took our first trip with Lindblad to Alaska in 1990, with the expectation that we would probably not do something like it again. Now, 19 years later we keep finding great places to go with them.

The photo potential on most trips is just super, lots of good shooters on-board. Some trips are designated as "Photo Expeditions" and have National Geographic photographers on-board to help you get better photos. We have traveled with Bob Krist, Gordon Witlsie, and Tom Mangelesen at various times.

I have written up several of the trips here on the Cafe. Send me a PM for more information.

Very "cool" trip. I would love to do something like that someday.
