After we left Venice, we moved onto Lake Maggiore, Italy and then onto Switzerland including Lucerne and the Lake of Lucerne.

(If you missed the thread that started this trip in Rome, you can go back and start with it here.)

3) We took a boat ride out to a little island that housed a huge mansion which is the summer home for a very rich family and were able to tour the mansion and the gardens

Onto Switzerland!

Now we were traveling to Switzerland and the Lake of Lucerne, with a stop off at Mount Stanserhorn.

1) A picturesque shot from the bus of a mountain's reflection (if only the power lines weren't in the way)

Wonderful images, such beautiful scenery. You must be having a fantastic holiday.

Thanks Patrick. Yes we did have a wonderful vacation...the sights we saw in Europe were just amazing...I can't wait to go back.

Great work- looks like you had a great time. Nice weather too! Love the white peacocks.

The weather was perfect almost every day with it being in the mid to upper 70's and it only rained one day. Thanks for looking David.

Nice documentary of a lovely trip, Dave...

What lens or lenses did you use...
the exif gave the focal length, but just wondered ...
thanks

What an experience... you have some amazing captures there Dave. Thank you for sharing... I especially loved the one with Mount Starserhorn; I know it is hard to get a good angle from a bus but still I wish you had the opportunity to get the entire reflection of the mountain. When I am on a touring vehicle and spot potentially great compositions; I always want to stop the vehicle right there but unfortunately it does not work that way...

Thank you! I took 3 lenses (17-55 f/2.8, 18-200 VR, and 80-200 f/2.8). I only used the 17-55 f/2.8 (most of the time) and then the 18-200 VR every now and then. I believe 95% of my shots were with the 17-55 f/2.8 though...although the ones on top of Stanserhorn are with the 18-200 VR I know for sure.

Dave, great pics, fantastic sights!

Thanks!

Yes it was a very memorable trip. We're glad we went and saw what we saw. It does suck to be stuck on a tour bus when you'd like to stop and take a shot, but unfortunately that wasn't the type of trip we were on. Maybe next time. Thanks for looking!
