Despite the 17" of snow that fell on Green Bay yesterday, the snow is just about gone here in the Madison area due to some recent warm weather and substantial rains. These shots are are from Cascade Mountain near Portage, Wisconsin on March 13. Great conditions and great Spring-like weather on this day. All photos taken with D300 and Nikon 70-200 VR.

Comments welcomed.

very nice...

Thanks, Crhis.

Excellent job Pete!

Much appreciated, Steve.

Very cool, the first shot is awesome!

Thanks, Murphy. It was a surprise to me, but likely more so for the skier!

Great Series!!! You missed the snow too.

Thanks. Yep, the big stuff stayed to the north this time. We just got a dusting.

Great series. My favorite shots are always the oh **** moments that are captured.

Thanks, Bryan. I agree. I was lucky to be in the right spot at the right time.

Nice stuff, that must be a terrible feelign when he looses a pole

Thank you Mike. Probably a worse feeling for the skier when the ski pops off, but fortunately he landed on the one ski and tumbled, but didn't get hurt (other than his ego).

Great shots!

Thanks Rookie. My 14 year son is in the last three shots (green/white jacket).
