Leaf Butterfly - Sigma 105mm and D50

Discussion in 'Macro, Flowers, Insects, and Greenery' started by Kevin_d50, Aug 2, 2009.

  1. Hi all :)
A rework effort of the leaf butterfly and some other butterflies at a visit to Phuket butterfly world a while back.
Some may have seen these already , apologies for that.
However, the previous post just didn't do enough justice to the capabilities of the lens (my bad)

It was quite amazing to see how easily this chap blended into the surrounding plants - perfect camo :)

I had to crop to swuare on this one, couldn't get a decent 4/3 aspect ratio on it

Wonderful shots Kevin, the D50 is a lovely combo.

The beast in the first few imgs looks so much like a dead leaf.

  3. Great set!

Wow! I have never seen a leafy butterfly. #3 is a really cool shot!

  16. Thanks Jessica :)
you should see it in action, flitting about and then landing on eg a pot plant. Blends in perfectly ...
