light graffiti!

    (i searched for this and didnt see any threads started so correct me if im wrong and direct me to the right place)

    if this is a new thread then great! this is alot of fun and very easy to do

    you need a dark room, long exposure, and some kind of light (i just used my cell phone)

    post yours up!

    (this is just my first attempt, trying to score points with the girlfriend:wink:)

    Spoot, I'm curious... What did you use for the light source in your photo... A pen light or something similar?

    My cellphone camera has a light to illuminate the subject, I used this to draw in the air.
     
  6. Well I did the same thing :)  the only difference is that mine was done with a lighter. Here is me attempting to also score some points with the girlfriend :

  9. Cool idea! I had to try it out.
    I didn't know what to write, so I just copied you.
    This could lead to some fun effects!

    I used a normal flashlight, with weak batteries.

    I used a super bright LED flashlight I have. I had to move the light really fast, otherwise it was too much haha.

    Who doesn't like to say hi to their mom? :biggrin:

    Nice pics. When I try doing this it just looks like a ghost having a seizure on a long exposure.

    how long of an exposure do you guys leave it on for? i put around 10-20 sec
     
  15. If you can write what you need to write in less time, set it for less. You don't want it to be so long you start to pick up ambient light as noise.
