  2. Well done, I prefer the second one with the clouds!
I wouldn't like to be near where they were touching down, that's for sure!!

  3. The last time I caught any lightning shots was on the top of Pikes Peak. Frankly it scared the heck out of me and I quickly folded up my tripod and left. Your shots are nice, thanks for sharing them.

  4. Killer lightning photos! Well done, you were at the right spot at the right time

Striking!!! Great captures but the second one is a charm with the clouds and wind swept rain. Well done.

Anyone care to give their tips for making a good lightning photo?

long shutters and hope for the best?

set exposure for anticipated extra light?

love them. great work. well.....or play lol

  15. I use a tripod, cable release and the bulb mode. I just hold the shutter open and wait. Once the lighting has occurred i close the shutter. This works well for night lightning.

  16. +1 Great shots!

I only tried lightning photography once, and got 3 shots with bolts in it, none anywhere near the quality of these. Incredible photos, but the 2nd shot in the 1st post should be in a gallery somewhere.

Impressive! Of the first two, I prefer the composition of the 2nd shot, ie, less ground and more sky.
    Nice work.
