I believe this is the last set of keepers from last weekend. I was stalking this heron on a small lake that had absolutely no cover around its shore. I was never able to get really close. But, I think I got a few decent shots. Lighting was very overcast and I had to use slower shutter speeds than I prefer for action.

Great job regardless...!

Love #3 with it returning with it's prize...!
Thanks, William. It was fun watching it slide down the hatch.
Looks close enough for me. Very nice.

Thanks, Ed. These were the best after quite some time of working with the bird.
Really good series with the last shot being my pick.
Thanks, Louie. It's my favorite, too. I think he finally realized I was no threat and he let me get closer while he was ready for another fishing expedition. It was cut short by a man walking his dog, though.
