Little Songbird

Discussion in 'Birds' started by misupix, Jun 27, 2007.

  1. Captured this little songbird today. I guess it is a "Rotschwänzchen"?

    original.

It was pretty dark, but came out good enough.

  2. What a cutie Michael! As small as the bird is, your composition works very well.

  3. This is a beautiful shot Michael. Perfect background makes this little songbird pop.

  4. Little birds are fun to capture.
The composition and detail here are just perfect!

BTW, That sounds like a serious case of lens lust you have here, Michael!

    Quite the beautiful image:>)))))

  6. Michael, I also like the composition, nice picture.
I browsed through my bird book. The closest match I found is a one year old male "Hausrotschwanz" with the first summer "dress".

  7. I think its called a redstart in English.

  8. Thanks for the comments!

And many thanks to Daniel and Alan for helping identify this pretty bird.

Yes it's a female Black Redstart, (Hausrotschwanz).

Saw some juvenile ones earlier too. Must have been breeding nearby.
The little ones really look like little grey hairballs with tiny feet :Crunk: But are very shy, I'd need a 800mm to capture these..........
