    Thank you both.Sorry I can't put names to them,although I know #3 is a thistle I'm sure it has a more botanical name.

  5. awesome! did you use extention tube(s) to get these shots? I can't get too close to my subject without being unable to focus. Those look great!

    Hi Jose,The pictures were taken with 55-200mm kit lens on my D40X from about 4ft hand held,which is about as close as you can get with it,then a bit of cropping done with the software that came with the camera.#2 same lens taken a bit further away to get the frame image and DoF I wanted.

  7. good stuff. I've tried getting good flower shots with the 55-200, I need to try it out a bit more
