I thought they came out pretty good I couldnt use my umbrellas because of the wind. All in all not bad for a entry level amature. What do you think?

Hey Vin2k, could I ask what was your purpose for these shots? Were they for a family portrait, or fashion/modeling related?

All I'll say for now is that you might've set the exposure too high, as there are lots of blown highlights.

My only purpose for these shots was experience. The family portrait is my aunt and cousins and the other young lady is my sister.

I think if I would of been able to use my umbrellas I could of soften the light on there foreheads and noses but I always have a problem with blowing out white shirts in the sunlight.

Hey Vin, I was just wondering because models smiling at the camera usually don't work so well for fashion shoots :)

As for the highlights, try shooting later in the day when the angle of the sun is lower, or expose for the background (sky) and use your flash to "fill" the subject. With the right settings, you can overpower the sun and make it look dark out!

  7. You can bring out the great expressions! Good shots. Previous posts are right on.

    Keep on shootin'.

#3 Best of the four by far! Very good.
    #4 Nice group snapshot

Suggestions: Get closer and work on reducing DOF to blur the BG

That first one is right on the money. Great capture.

  12. I would work on reducing the background clutteer by moving in closer and using DOF to blur the background. You have some nice looking people to work with now you just need to refine your technique.

Thanks for the comments, Im going to try to shoot some more this weekend and right some of my wrongs. Im still saving up for a beast, I know that will help me blur my backgrounds better than my 17-50 tammy(I love my lens). But in the meantime will work on moving closer to my subjects.

    Thanks again good people!
