Long legged fly...

Discussion in 'Macro, Flowers, Insects, and Greenery' started by kramp, Jul 2, 2005.

  1. And a beetle for Harry, I think its some type of click beetle.

    Reversed 28 again!

I enhanced the dof on the fly and cropped and the beetle is just cropped.

Is the fly okay or is the depth of field kinda funny looking?

  2. Hi Martin!

This is indeed a click beetle. But that's all I can say - there are simply too many similar looking species.

As for the fly: I like the dreamy appearance. The DOF looks a bit funny because the fore part and tip of the abdomen are in focus with a blurry part in between (base of the abdomen). But overall it looks very nice.

  4. I like 'em both....don't think the average viewer would notice the augmented DOF....
  5. Thanks for the comments and feedback Harry, Paul and Mike.
