My wife and I are spending several days celebrating our 38th anniversary and I've come up with a little surprise for each day. These cardamom-flavored coconut macaroons are a favorite of hers so they are one of the surprises. They didn't fall over while I was making the main photo but they fell over three times while I was making the photo of the setup.

Photo of the Setup
The lamp was very close to the subjects to produce soft shadows and an appealing vignette on the background. Three focus-bracketed images at Nikon step size 3 were stacked in Helicon Focus at default settings.

No sugar icing as glue? :D

Mike, I can imagine it was a true patience game.

Kind regards

Thank you to Rick and Gary!

38yrs! That takes a lot of sugar icing and stick pins to make stand up.
Just the opposite, we've been very lucky in that we've never, ever worked at our relationship and that's because we've never had to correct or rework anything. We never had a rough year. We've grown in the same direction, not different directions, over the last four decades and that's a bit of luck that I think makes everything easier. We've had only two rules:
  • If you're gonna be home after midnight, call to let the other one know that everything is fine.
  • When we're together, don't ever do anything both people don't want to do; do the things your partner doesn't want to do when you're apart, and enjoy discussing it afterwards.
