Loving Natural light + 70-200VR

Discussion in 'People' started by Firestorm_westy, Jul 29, 2007.

  1. Hi all,

    I just love the 70-200vr - These were natural light, allowing about 1/60 @ 2.8 (ISO 200).

Are they sharp enough, or should I go to 400?

  2. The first two look great Paul. Love the expression in the first. The third may be a little soft.

Sharp enough for me esp #1 and #2. Paul, I'll have no hesitation to go to ISO 400 if required.

If you're getting 1/60 then there's no reason to increase the ISO, though I've noticed consistent softness with the 70-200 on my D200. It's hard to get perfect focus wide open, and the VR might actually cause some image blur.

How would this be? Is'nt the point of VR to help reduce image blur:confused:
  8. I had problems at first, but most of that was my misunderstanding of 'Active' VR mode. I have that turned off now, and am far happier with the results.

  9. Thanks so much for commenting
  10. Hmmm, looks OK on my calibrated iMac
