Lowell Folk Festival (Part 2)

  1. Today I went to the Lowell (Mass) Folk Festival w/ my wife, 2 daughters, and a friend of my youngest daughter. It was a hot day, but clouds came pretty frequently.

The group here is the Lonesome River Band (read about them here or here).

We were able to get right up front; with all the shadows on the stage, I decided to give Active D-Lighting (Normal) and matrix metering a try. Used my 17-55 & 70-200. C&C welcome, EXIF intact.

Also took a couple of another band on the way out...

    2. The mando player Andy Ball, very talented, from Detroit!

    3. The rhythm guitar, Brandon Rickman did well w/ a broken string, didn't miss a beat on vocals.

    4. Sammy Shelor, the longest tenured member w/ 17 years

    5. Mike Anglin played a nice, tight bass.

    6. Bagged, kind of hard to not stand out w/ the 70-200, LOL.

    8. Mike Hartgrove played a mean fiddle.

    9. The lead vocalist and accordion player from Jerry Broussard & the Creole Cowboys. We were just walking by and didn't catch this fellow's name. Left the lighting as shot, changed to Spot metering.
