LR Becomes Photoshop

As Kiwi Geoff reported over in the LR Forums,

according to this rumor, Adobe will re-brand LR to Adobe Photoshop, and Photoshop to "Adobe Image Ready".

This could be interesting, maybe I can just buy one program instead of two from now on. But I bet the price will go up for Lightroom, I mean Photoshop. Or I guess that means it will stay the same since it's Photoshop? Or will it be less? :m23:

ha ha. Well, if they would just improve the clone tool in LR, I won't need "Image Ready" at all.

And throw out one of the strongest brand names in the photography industry? I'm not saying the rumor isn't true, but I'm very surprised by it. A strong brand (not just "Adobe" but "Photoshop" as well isn't something I'd throw out of the window so quickly.
