I just love it when people comment on how lucky I must be when I get a nice wildlife image. Below is what luck looks like. Taken in Ontario on a snowy owl shoot. That's not me(note the Canon strap). I was the one behind the viewfinder.
It's just that I've found my luck improves in direct proportion to the amount of time I spent in the field....you must be dedicated...

Nor the miles of hiking with all the gear, travel expense, investment in equipment, etc, etc....They don't see the all the times you hang out in cold and wet conditions and come home empty handed.
Good point. No worries about getting deet on the equipment or getting frustrated with a head net. Though in Alaska I have been walking knee deep in snow while being assailed by mosquitoes. Which just isn't right!No mosquitos that's a big plus in that wheather
