It has been a long summer, retina surgery had me laid up for a few months. But, finally back out to take some astro photos.

This was taken with a D5300 and 300mm f/2.8 VR... 300 x 30 second exposures.

Spectacular image! I never could wrap my brain around the sizes and distances we are looking at here. I had retinal surgery 3 years ago. It takes a while to get used to the new normal. Glad you are back shooting.

Thanks! The gas bubble completely went away on Thanksgiving (12 weeks after surgery)....now to wait another month to see if the surgery worked. My 3 favorite pastimes are astro, woodworking and flying.... all were not possible... but eating junk food and watching TV worked... lol
