Nice shot Greg. I'd say two things tho:

I'd consider removing some of the reflection from Mac's left cheek and brow. And Mac's pupils are considerably dilated when compared with Crystal's. I wonder whay this is, when they were both in similar light?

  5. thanks for your thoughts
i'll work on it some more

the reason for the exaggerated pupil dilation in mac... is that she has CLASSIC GRAY EYES... and those folks have pupils that are THE most sensitive to light/darkness (with the exception of albino folks, of course)

i don't use a "red-eye-reduction" solution in flashing... had i... they would have constricted a bit

  6. i worked on those "HOT" spots on mac's face and came up with this:

There ya go. Knew it was a side cover, just got the wrong side...

  10. Hi Greg,

Great retouch. The only thing I would do is equalize the catch-light on her left eye. Sometimes, I'll just clone the other eyes catch-light or create one that's similar. I find that when a picture is reduced in size, the catch-light can become distorted.

    Best regards,
    Vince

BTW, the Ducati 1098 is awesome. If everything goes well, I'll have one this winter.

  11. another awesome point
i'll get to work on that, as well

i hope you get the 1098
    it's an awesome ride

    many friends have them
i have my BMW K1200GT and MV Agusta Brutale 910R.... a lot of fun, as well

  12. how's this for the catchlight "fix?"

Lovely! A thought occurred to me looking at Mackenzie compared to Crystal... Mackenzie must slather SPF 50 on all the time, huh?

  14. Nice picture of two lovely young ladies. I like your final edit. I do wonder what you used for flash in this shot and why no diffuser as the lighting seems a bit harsh.

  15. thanks, kristin
well... their complexions ARE quite different....

    2 things:
    1. mac would LOVE to have crystals coloring
    2. crystal just came off the stage... and was still wearing her performance makeup

she is one of the singer from The Trailer Choir

    www.trailerchoir.com/

they open up for Toby Keith...
she had come right from the show
her long-time boyfriend is my wife's cousin

  16. gordon...
    thanks for looking and commenting
by the time we left the restaurant... it was almost midnight
as i mentioned in my post above... crystal is a professional singer with Toby Keith's opening band

she was in a rush to get back to her tour bus...
after playing the Ford Amphitheater in Tampa... they have a concert in Charleston, SC tonight.

    everyone was tired
i used the SB-800... shoe-mounted with the clear gary fong attached
    FAR from perfect

i wish you'd been with me...
you expertise would have helped me to slow down and get a much better result

  17. Greg, I did a little work on this image, hope you don't mind.

  18. i don't mind at all, gordon
in fact, i'm honored that you took the time to do so

if you have time, could you tell me what you did.... so that i can learn?

    i really appreciate it

  19. Greg, I am on my way to church but will PM you when I get back. Will probably be this afternoon sometime.

  20. Now I'm jealous!

And you have a D3, too!

For me, the Ducati will come before the D3. It's a tough choice, but the Ducati will get more smiles per hour.
