Saturday morning and I'm jonesing to go shoot something, but the fog is in (as it very often is on the Monterey Bay areas). However, I don't care I'm a wuff tuff wowdy webel without a clue, or as I like to call them, a NikonCafe shooter. I'm going to the beach and I'm going to shoot even if it means 400 ISO and no shutter speed!

I'd also just come across the link to Alex Bernasconi's work on "the other place" and was absolutely awe-struck, extremely envious and very much inspired. I was determined to try harder. Here's some of the results:

Oh, I need an ID as well. Can anyone tell me if this is a Red-breasted Merganser or a Common Merganser?

All with the ancient D100 and Sigma 80-400mm OS.

Thanks for looking and critiques welcome,
Neil

Very, very nice Neil. You shouldn't have said anything about the high ISO. I certainly wouldn't have known if you hadn't mentioned it.

Excellent shots.

Love that Tern shot Neil. Its nice seeing some D100 shots. I'm still using mine and getting good results with it.
