I was hoping to get a little closer to the male to get a cleaner shot, hand held, but my approach was not so stealthy today. The one in the tree, well, wasn't too worried about my presence.

Interesting shots, Bob. Isn't the lad confused on time of year? I've not yet witnessed one strut his stuff. Though most of them that I see are trying to be invisible because my dog is on point nearby.

  3. I was surprised to see him strutting this time of year as well. Though as I recall, I got one last year in the snow in early winter/late fall doing the same. We keep our Cocker Spaniel on a leash with us right about this time of year - fox; black bear and deer like to visit - even in the daylight.

  4. Thanks for showing these Bob. Really interesting. The male looks very healthy. You sure get a good variety of critters.

  5. Thanks James. Yes, we're lucky where we live as far as the variety of visitors that show up outside of our home

  6. Nice photos of interesting behavior that I've never seen. Too bad the bird was in shadow with a bright background, but you gotta take what's available.

  7. Super shots Bobby...........

  8. Thanks Jim. I was hoping for a better setting, but he just wasn't cooperating.
    thanks Darrell
