I am looking for a solution to use the Manfrotto Tripod #458 and Manfrotto Ball Head #498cr2. I have a D7000 (WITH GRIP MB-D11) with the Black Rapid Sport Slim.

What do I need so I do not need to take the Black Rapid strap off? I want something that is easy to do and not need to do any hole drilling etc.

I would get an L-bracket for whatever camera you have and get an Arca-Swiss type ballhead and be done with. The blackrapid strap system scares me so I don't use one. You can easily connect it to your L-bracket if you had one. Really Right Stuff makes decent brackets.

Thanks for the reply. I will check into it.

I use Arca Swiss style plates/clamps so I just screwed my Black Rapid connector into the
bottom of one of these...

Easy on, easy off, and you can balance it just the way you want by sliding the Arca Swiss plate
in the clamp... Great for long lenses when you clamp to the Arca Swiss plate on the tripod foot...

If you bought two you could mount one onto your ball head quick connect plate and use all
Arca Swiss plates on your cameras and lenses...

You can get plates/clamps cheap from these guys:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&me=A117K1DEQYNJIS#

That's the dealer I buy mine from... Make sure you buy from them direct and NOT through
Fullfilment by Amazon... Click the link lower down that tells you about others "New and Used"
and add it to the cart from there... Saves you shipping, tax, etc that Amazon would charge you...

Arca ball head and RRS, don't trust those little clamp things. As said above, easier to balance long lens, balance makes a world of difference in sharp pics with slow shutter speeds.
I like the tripod, but then I shoot some micro and that would be the strong point, if you have a large lens, not sure how steady it would be in a wind with out leg braces, check out their 3261, great pod, but seriously heavy.
