Swifty Swine Racing Pigs

Friday, August 22nd through Monday, September 1st @ 12:30, 2:30, 4:30, 6:30 & 8pm.
Free with paid admission to the Maryland State Fair.
Located at the west end of the Swine/Sheep Pavilion. Maryland State fairgoers will go hog wild when pig stars compete in the Swifty Swine Racing and Swimming Pig Show. Billed as "America’s cleanest and fastest pig races," the Swifty Swine Show is fast paced and action packed with three-heat races and one performance by Swifty the Swimming Pig. In addition, fairgoers will be able to stick their noses up after receiving a fun and informative education from P.U. (Piggie University).


Live Thoroughbred Horseracing

Live Thoroughbred Horseracing is taking place Friday, August 22 through Sunday, August 24 and Friday, August 29 through Monday, September 1. Post Time is 1 PM each day.
Free with paid admission to the Maryland State Fair.
Located in the Grandstands.
The Timonium Race Track is home to Live Thoroughbred Horseracing. Simulcast racing (for Delaware, Calder, Saratoga and Meadowlands) will take place every day except Tuesday, August 26. There will be no live racing Monday, August 25 through Thursday, August 28. The 5/8th mile oval, which overlooks scenic York Road, presents two stakes races over the Labor Day weekend; the $50,000 Alma North for fillies and mares on Saturday and the $50,000 Taking Risks on Monday. Both races are restricted to Maryland-breds, and each race is carded at 6-1/2 furlongs.


Masters Of The Chainsaw

Friday, August 22nd through Monday, September 1st
Weekdays @ 3:30, 5:30, 7:30
Weekends @ 1:30, 3:30, 5:30, 7:30
Free with paid admission to the Maryland State Fair.
Located in the State Fair Park.
Masters of the Chainsaw is a limited group of the nation’s top professional chainsaw sculptors. At a typical show, from behind protective netting, onlookers will observe an original and captivating high-energy performance. With chain saw roaring and chips flying, our carvers' precision and skill quickly transforms a three-foot tall log into a true work of art. Nearly every show will result with a carving being-produced from start to finish.


Bullriding & Barrel Racing

Monday, August 25th @ 7 pm
Free with paid admission to the Maryland State Fair.
Located in the Horse Show Ring, provides mostly stadium seating & some lawn seating.
"The Battle Of The Beast" Pro Bull Riding event. The cowboys will face the bulls when professional bull riding, one of America’s fastest growing extreme spectator sports, returns to the Fair. J Bar W Ranch will host its Battle of the Beast Bull Riding, which consists of 25 professional International Bull Rider Association (IBR) riders competing to ride some of the toughest bulls in the world of rodeo, Cowgirls Barrel Racing and more. Don't miss the "11 best days of summer."

The Maryland State Fair runs Aug. 22-Sept. 1 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, 2200 York Road, Timonium. The fair will be open each day from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Admission is $3-$8, not including the price of rides. Ride All Day wristbands can be purchased on certain days for $20. Certain performances and shows require the purchase of extra tickets. Call 410-252-0200 or go to http://www.marylandstatefair.com for full ticket and schedule information.
