I used to do bonsai but gave it up when we moved from the PNW down to the US gulf coast. The trees that I shaped never compared with those crafted by the true master gardener. I ran across this example a couple of weeks ago out in Prince William Sound.

1) Nice little garden on top of a big rock surrounded by water. Note at left of frame the top of a second tree on the back side of the rock.

2) Came back the next day. The tide was more favorable but the lighting was flat.

3) The tree that was barely visible from the other side of the rock.

WOW! #2 and 3 are truly amazing. Good find, good captures. Isn't mother nature grand!
Completely agreed with Nick
Beautifully crafted. There are wonderful things everywhere- but we do have to look.
Another image I hope gets printed and hung so everyone can realize what is out there.
Thanks
Gary
flat lighting or no, love the images.
Beautiful find. I look for the little surprises in nature, too!!
Lovely light and colors Dan.
#2 is amazing. Love the lighting and presentation on all of these beautiful shots.
Lovely, really like that 3rd image. Gorgeous light and shape.
I lost track of this thread. Thanks for all the comments, folks.
