Hey All,

Final details for Sat. morn.

Cost: Photographers $50.00, non-photographers $10.00

Non-photographer means no camera, no pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pay the sanctuary, by check or Cash. No Credit Cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope to be there before 6:30, but if you get there first the gate maybe closed. Wait for the keeper (Matt) to come and open-up and tell him your with Sean's group. We have the place until 9:30

Please try not to back-out at this point. Matt gives me a price break based on good size groups, If i show up with less I'll pay more in the future.

At the moment i have the following down...

Glenn's friend
Gary

If anyone else in interested let me know pronto!

See ya Saturday,

I'm holding my breath in eager anticipation of this shoot ...

(But not of waking up at 4:00 am to get there) lol

How far away from the vehicles will we be in the event someone wanted to go back to swap out gear?

Thanks,
Gary

Sweet ...

Sorry, another question :)

How high are the fences? Would bringing a step ladder to shoot over the fence be an option?

Thanks,
Gary

cloudy will be good, less reflection off of fence!

Gary,
We will always be within 100yards of the cars.

looking forward to the shoot!!!!!

Gary,

The Fences are around 7 feet tall, only one enclousure wouls be shootable for shooting over the fence and having a geed angle of view, with your 400 2.8 you will have no problem making those fences disapear. But you can try a ladder if you want to.

It was a lot of fun, and the weather cooperated nicely. A big thank you to Gary, who let me try out his SB-800, sync cord and monopod combo. That made for some extra nice shots.

Huge thanks to Sean for setting this up and leading the group. It is evident that you've developed a genuine rapport with the folks at the Wolf Sanctuary and they appreciate you. It was so worthwhile and yes, I'll do it again anytime. Let's hope we get some real snow this winter so we can get them then.

Here are some of mine. I'm still working on most of them.

5. This fella wouldn't survive in the wild, as he is blind. But he's well cared for here.

7. There were quite a few cats around, and the wolves really, really like them. This guy was locked on to a cat that was right by the fence.

Nice series of shots, Glenn! Yeah, the wolves' fascination with the young cats walking by the fence was interesting!! Good thing there is a fence to protect the cats and us!

I will echo Glenn on thanking Sean for setting up this event. It may have been a cloudy day but it was a fun experience seeing those wolves and meeting up with new and old faces again. Thanks, Sean!

My shooting numbers was conservative...like 100 LOL, not alot like Gary's. I need to work on my pics this week.

Ok So I have done a rough sort through of mt 400+ shots here are a few...
I tend to spend most of my time with a goup of 4 eastern timber wolves, I really like their coats, the enclosure is easy to work with and the fence seems to be less reflective.

All these shots are with either:
D2h & 70-200 vr, ISO 320 f2.8 or f4
D2x & 300 2.8 AFI, 2X hsc, ISO 320 with fill flash, SB800 1/8 manual, f4 or 2.8

It was good to meet Glenn & Gary, Great to see Laura again!
Everytime I go to this Sanctuary i learn a little more on how toget good shots there (very little evidence of fences in my shots) So I will keep going back!!! I will plan for a fall shoot Early October is what I have in mind.

Thanks for looking!
