Memorial Day 2007

  1. As a veteran, I hold the meaning of Memorial Day near and dear to my heart. Amonst all the activities, car races, etc., Memorial Day is a day of reconciliation, rememberance, and honoring those who sacrificed to preserve our freedoms, our birthrights. I conduct a couple of Memorial Day services as a means of honoring those friends of mine who "...gave the last full measure." They will be forever young, whereas I have aged and led a full life. In honor of them and as a reminder, the name of this rose is "Veteran's Honor."
    May we never forget...

  2. I know there are a lot of veterans on this site and I’m sure they feel the same way. So did you genetically create this rose? Great idea BTW.
  3. Will:
No I did not tamper with the genetics of this rose. It is a straight Jackson & Perkins hybrid, but with that name it has a place of honor in my garden. It always seems to bloom around Memorial Day.
